A lot of ed-tech products are demoed on fast office Wi-Fi and then handed to students on a shared family phone with patchy 4G. That gap is where most apps lose their audience. We design for the second scenario first — offline caching for lessons, aggressive image and video compression, and interfaces that stay usable on low-end Android devices.
We've also found that regional language support isn't a nice-to-have add-on for Indian ed-tech — it's often the deciding factor in whether a student's parent trusts the app enough to let them use it unsupervised.
